Comunicado urgente sobre la Flotilla Global Sumud y el genocidio del pueblo palestino 

En las últimas semanas pudimos observar la intensificación del genocidio palestino, mientras Benjamin Netanyahu —que recordemos tiene una orden de captura emitida por la Corte Penal Internacional (CPI)— pronunciaba un discurso nefasto justificando el genocidio y la limpieza étnica del territorio palestino ante algunas delegaciones en la Asamblea General de la ONU; mismo evento en que el presidente de Paraguay, Santiago Peña, refrendó su «apoyo incondicional» a ‘Israel’. Más que nunca se demostró que, como advertimos muchas veces, esta institución internacional no sirve para nada y los principios del derecho internacional y el «orden basado en reglas» son meros instrumentos del imperialismo y el colonialismo. En este caso al servicio de los intereses del proyecto sionista.

La Flotilla Global Sumud, que tiene la misión de romper el cerco marítimo que impide el ingreso de ayuda humanitaria directamente a Gaza, está siendo acosada y violentada por las fuerzas israelíes. Al momento en que redactamos este pronunciamiento, recibimos la noticia de los múltiples actos terroristas de ‘Israel’ en contra de varias embarcaciones de la Flotilla Sumud, incluyendo el secuestro de sus tripulantes. 

Por ello, desde el Partido Comunista Paraguayo (PCP) y la Juventud Comunista Paraguaya (JCP) expresamos nuestra profunda solidaridad con las tripulaciones de los navíos que conforman la Flotilla Global Sumud, a la vez que hacemos llegar nuestro apoyo fraterno y activo a todo el pueblo palestino que se encuentra en los territorios resistiendo a la ocupación militar del sionismo.

Repudiamos el bloqueo criminal de ‘Israel’, que desde hace tiempo impide el ingreso de ayuda humanitaria a Gaza y que utiliza la hambruna como arma, con total impunidad. Asimismo, condenamos la complicidad del Estado paraguayo en este genocidio. No está de más mencionar que este Estado ya tenía experiencias aplicando la misma estrategia de genocidio, como lo hizo durante décadas con los diversos pueblos indígenas en este territorio. 

Frente a este momento histórico, la tarea fundamental de toda la clase trabajadora es organizarse solidariamente, apuntar la complicidad de nuestros gobiernos y reclamar acciones inmediatas contra el proyecto sionista que pretende masacrar a todo el pueblo palestino. Por ello reiteramos nuestra adhesión a la convocatoria de la articulación de Palestina en Paraguay, para el 7 de octubre en Asunción. Creemos que en este momento es imprescindible romper el silencio sobre la cuestión palestina, solidarizarse con el pueblo palestino y denunciar el papel del Estado paraguayo en estos crímenes brutales. 

Tal y como se expresó en el VI Congreso de la JCP: «Los bombardeos, el plan de expulsión de los palestinos en Gaza y, sobre todo, el proceso histórico desde mediados del siglo veinte nos muestran que el sionismo es la causa y la justificación del gobierno y la sociedad israelí para sus planes coloniales. Cuando decimos Palestina libre (desde el río hasta el mar) nos referimos a una Palestina libre del dominio israelí, libre del sionismo, libre de la ocupación y libre de ejercer su derecho de autodeterminación; nos referimos a una Palestina sin Israel como Estado-nación».

In the last weeks we could see the intensification of the palestinian genocide, while Benjamin Netanyahu —who has an arrest warrant emmited by the International Criminal Court (ICC)— was pronouncing a disastrous speech justifying the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian territory before some delegations at the UN General Assembly, the same event in which Paraguay’s president Santiago Peña reinforced its “unconditional support” to ‘Israel’. More than ever, it has been demonstrated that, as we have repeatedly warned, this international institution is useless, and the principles of international law and the «rules-based order» are mere instruments of imperialism and colonialism. In this case, serving the interests of the Zionist project.

The Global Sumud Flotilla, whose mission is to break the maritime siege preventing the direct entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza is being harassed and violated by Israeli forces. At the time of writing this statement, we received news of multiple terrorist acts by ‘Israel’ against several Sumud Flotilla vessels, including the kidnapping of their crews. 

Therefore, the Paraguayan Communist Party (PCP) and the Paraguayan Communist Youth (JCP) express our deep solidarity with the crews of the vessels that make up the Global Sumud Flotilla, while extending our fraternal and active support to all the Palestinian people who are in the territories resisting the Zionist military occupation.

We condemn Israel’s criminal blockade, which has long prevented the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and used famine as a weapon with complete impunity. We also condemn the Paraguayan state’s complicity in this genocide. It is worth mentioning that this state has already had experience applying the same strategy of genocide, as it did for decades against the various Indigenous peoples in this territory.

Faced with this historic moment, the fundamental task of the entire working class is to organize in solidarity, point out the complicity of our governments, and demand immediate action against the Zionist project that seeks to massacre the entire Palestinian people. Therefore, we reiterate our support for the call for the articulation of Palestine in Paraguay, for October 7th in Asunción. We believe that at this moment it is essential to break the silence on the Palestinian question, stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, and denounce the role of the Paraguayan state in these brutal crimes.

As expressed at the Sixth Congress of the JCP: «The bombings, the plan to expel the Palestinians from Gaza, and, above all, the historical process since the mid-twentieth century show us that Zionism is the cause and justification of the ‘Israeli’ government and society for its colonial plans. When we say “Free Palestine” (from the river to the sea), we mean a Palestine free from ‘Israeli’ rule, free from Zionism, free from occupation, and free to exercise its right to self-determination; we are referring to a Palestine without Israel as a nation-state».
